Novel Writing & Narrative  

 

As mentioned on the Design Documents page, every detail of a game is incorporated into the documents. This also includes the story and lore of the worlds in which the game will be based. 

 

Creating the narrative for the game initially comes from a few basic ideas such as character names, places or even concepts of how the world itself works. All of these combined begin to create the world and from there I am able to write its story and expand upon it as I go.  

 

One of these game concepts I turned into a three part novel called 'Equinox', I am in the process of writing the first book for this trilogy. The story revolves around a young hero who is brought into a strange new world where he is prophecised to be the savior of the Autumnal Equinox. Two examples have been included to view, one links to the blurb and the other links to a sample of a chapter from Equinox. More example segments can be viewed on the Chill Cre8tive blog. 

 

I have also done script writing for a few of the game concepts. This helps define segments of the game that are very emotional or just conversations from None Playable characters or where to go next in the game. I will be including a selection of script examples to this page so keep an eye out for them with the links at the bottom.
